Two join Bellevue Collection’s fashion judging team

Patricia Wolfkill and Marj Turner have joined the five-person selection panel for The Bellevue Collection’s third annual Independent Designer Runway Show at Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection. The show is set for Sept. 24 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue.

They will join Seattle Met magazine’s Laura Cassidy, Sustainable Style Foundation’s Rebecca Luke, and Michael Bruce image consultant’s Bruce Pflaumer, all of whom have served on the panel for the past two seasons.

Wolfkill is the former founder and buyer for Merge Boutique. She appeared on Project Runway with Tim Gunn and Zana Roberts as a guest judge for the Northwest castings for two seasons. She is a recognized fashion expert appearing on television programs and quoted in leading fashion magazines.

Her career began with Donna Karan for the DKNY in 1990. Later, she launched her own line, Vita Di Moda, a contemporary miss line specializing in “day into evening” dresses and sportswear successfully selling to Nordstrom and better specialty stores around the country. Her latest venture was Merge Boutique in Seattle, where it received “Best of Women’s Clothing” awards with Seattle CitySearch for three consecutive years.

Turner is the new regional director for Fashion Group International. She previously served for 15 years as senior vice president of merchandising at Macy’s Northwest and led the buying teams for fashion, bridge and fine jewelry, handbags, women’s shoes , intimate apparel, color and treatment, fragrances, fashion accessories and women’s hosiery.

Currently she is an executive partner with WP Consultants which specializes in retail and wholesale consulting.

Last year, the designer show panel selected 11 local fashion designers to participate in the show and is anticipated to select a similar number in 2014. Judging begins April 11 when the selected applicants present to the panel.
