Medina seeks members for two commissions

Medina has openings on its Planning Commission and Civil Service Commission.

The Planning Commission is comprised of seven members and discusses and proposes policy for the city. It meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. The person selected will serve a partial term until June 30, 2014.

The Civil Service Commission assures that rules for operation of the civil service system are consistent with state law. The commission also certifies qualified applicants ranked highest on the eligibility list for original and promotional appointment to classified positions with the City of Medina Police Department. The commission hears complaints and appeals and has authority to determine action that is in accordance with the Medina Civil Service rules.

The Civil Service Commission meets as needed. The term for Position 2 will begin immediately and expire June 30, 2015.
