A community gathering including a picnic/potluck along with a number of activities will be held today and Saturday (July 13-14) at Orchard Gardens at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4315 129th Pl. SE, Bellevue (near Newport Way and Factoria Boulevard).

The picnic/potluck will be held today at 6:30 p.m. People are encouraged to bring something from their tradition and share what others bring. Local Hawaiian/Polynesian dancers will entertain.

On Saturday, the schedule includes:

9:30 a.m. – Gather in the Garden Shelter to sip coffee/tea and enjoy goodies before the day’s program begins

10 a.m. – Kathi Lightstone will tell stories and Harmony Young will sing songs.

11 a.m. – Craft hour where people can choose between quilt tying, painting, planting, sand candle making, walking the labyrinth or relaxing wandering through the community gardens

Noon – Lunch hour, where people can bring their own lunch or enjoy pizza-by-the-slice sold to sponsor student events

12:30 p.m. – Brazilian dancers entertain

1 p.m. – Nicole Nazarro leads us on a storytelling adventure.
