Vasa Park sets Midsummer Festival Vasa Park’s Midsummer Festival, a traditional Scandinavian family celebration of the start of summer, will be held Sunday, June 15. The event will be the 88th anniversary of the event at Vasa Park.
Admissions to Vasa Park are free for Midsummer.
The traditions at Vasa Park’s Midsummer Festival include a parade of costumed folk dancers and musicians, a folk dancing performance around a flower covered maypole and Scandinavian crafts and food.
Lots of activities will be centered on children with free pony rides in the morning, face painting, free cotton candy and popcorn, interactive game bus and Dizzy’s Tumble Bus. Traditional children’s races and games start at 2 p.m. The playground, swimming beach and waterslides will be open all day with lifeguards on duty
A Swedish pancake breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. until noon at the outdoor kitchen,. During the afternoon, hot dogs, hamburgers, and salmon will be served. A beer garden will be open from noon until 6 p.m. with domestic and microbrew beer being served. The Pickled Herring Band will play from 3-6 p.m. in the beer garden.
Vasa Park is located on the west side of Lake Sammamish at 3560 W. Lake. Sammamish Parkway S.E. in Bellevue.
