Bellevue rolls again, pushes winning streak to 42, Newport wins again on road | Prep football scores

The Wolverines still have not been slowed in two games to open the year and pushed the program's winning streak on the gridiron to 42.

Bellevue moved to 2-0 with a 49-6 win over Bothell after building a 42-6 lead at the half behind a punt return touchdown and rushing score from Budda Baker and another touchdown on the ground from junior running back Sam Richmond.

The Wolverines, on a quest for a sixth straight 3A state title, take on Sammamish next week.

Newport also kept its record perfect on the young season, winning a non-conference road game for the second time in as many weeks, 35-14 over South Kitsap in Port Orchard.

Franklin Pierce stopped Sammamish in its bid to collect the program’s first win since 2011, beating the Totems 43-14.

Interlake was unable to pick up a win against Redmond, falling 55-7 to the Mustangs and former head coach Jason Rimkus at home.
