Joseph Donald (Don) Lemieux
Joseph Donald (Don) Lemieux of Bellevue passed away Nov. 7, 2010, at home. He was 80.
Mr. Lemieux was born Nov. 7, 1930, in Butte, Mont., to Fred and Margaret Lemieux. He was married to Margaret Louise (Peggy) Seubert Aug. 28, 1954.
He was discharged from the army in 1955, and began his teaching career at Omak High School. In 1959 he moved to Bellevue and taught the remainder of his career at Highland Jr. High, where he coached track and was the rocket club advisor.
He belonged to the Elks’ Club and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the committee for the design of 148th Ave. He served on the Bellevue City Council from 1975-79. He served multiple terms on the East Bellevue Community Council.
He was an avid stream fisherman in his youth. After he moved to Bellevue he became a commercial gill net fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Joe Lemieux (Denise), Jeanne Lemieux Oakland (Don), Shaun Lemieux (Josie), Margo Lemieux Gockel (Paul), and Mark Lemieux (Lorrie); sister, Gaylene Grant; three nieces and nephews, and 17 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Margaret, his son, Timothy John, and his grandson Marshall Lemieux.
A funeral service will be held at St. Louise Catholic Church 141 156th Ave. SE, Bellevue, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.
