U.S. Navy invades Bellevue with SEAL Fitness Challenge

Over 650 people participated in the U.S. Navy SEAL Fitness Challenge on Aug. 8 at the Bellevue Club and Surrey Downs Park in Bellevue.

The event consisted of a 500-yard swim, a 1.5-mile run, push-ups, sit-ups, and pull-ups, giving contestants a taste of the physical-screening test that Navy special warfare candidates must pass to enter the SEAL training program.

Entrants were paired up into teams, with some receiving awards and medals for performance at the end.

U.S. Navy Leap Frogs also paid a visit to the event, parachuting into Surrey Downs Park during a respite from the workouts.
