Cross country
Bellevue senior Spike Sievert finished third to lead the Wolverines to a third place team finish on the boys side at the 3A Sea-King cross country meet at Lower Woodland in Seattle.
Kyle Pratt, a junior, was 11th for the Wolverines and three other Bellevue runners finished in the top-40.
Sam Giner was sixth overall and first among his teammates for Interlake. Jay Taves was 24th for the Saints, which were sixth as a team.
Nathan Hale took the boys title, well in front of second place Seattle Prep.
On the girls side, sophomore Antoinette Tansley continued a stellar season with a sixth place finish for Interlake, helping her team to a fourth place finish in the process.
and Julia Ellings came in 10th for Bellevue.
Nikita Waghani, a junior, was just behind in 11th for the Saints and teammate Nadia Lucas was 15th.
Katherine Penner finished in 15th place for Bellevue and earned the third highest finish for a freshman competitor.
The Wolverines were eighth in the team scoring as Liberty took home the team scoring crown.
In 4A, Grant Stein was the highest finisher for Newport in 24th and was followed by teammate James Hamilton in 27th and Gordon Kuenster in 29th.
Jessica Spray was 13th for the Newport girls.
Volleyball
Interlake 3 Bellevue 0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-12)
The Saints earned the third and final seed from 3A KingCo with the 3-0 win over crosstown Bellevue behind 10 kills and 16 digs from Carolyn Fordyce and 27 assists from Julia Regalia.
Elise Berberoglu had six kills, six digs and a block for Bellevue in the loss and Lauren Patrick added 18 assists.
Interlake takes the third seed from the conference into the Sea-King tournament and will face the sixth seeded team from the Metro League on Thursday in a loser-out match.
