The cause of a fire at the Bellevue home of Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernadez has been ruled undetermined by the city fire department.

Investigators determined early after the Nov. 4 fire that it originated in the laundry room and caused an estimated $250,000 in destruction, with fire damage to the ground floor and heat and smoke damage to the second. Neither Hernandez nor his family were home when the fire began.

“We didn’t find anything that led to any further investigation on our part,” said Bellevue Fire Lt. Rich Burke, adding it is now up to Hernandez and his insurance company to take any further actions.
