Sammamish High School senior Jacob West is now only one win away from filling the final spot in the American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk and 3-point shootout at the NCAA Final Four in New Orleans.
West earned 75 percent of the vote to bypass his first round opponent from Florida before notching 59 percent in a second round win over his prep counterpart from Florida.
The round of four and a matchup against a three-point specialist from Montana gave West his closest vote yet but he still prevailed with 51 percent of the tally.
The final voting round is currently underway and will end on Sunday, Mar. 18. West owns 52 percent of the vote over Nolan C. from The Woodlands, Tex.
Should West complete his run through the 16-man bracket, he will be the final entry into the national three-point shooting competition that will air on CBS on Sunday, Apr. 1 at 1:30 p.m. PDT.
