Heavy Restaurant Group, which manages Barrio, Purple Cafe & Wine Bar and Lot No. 3, announced today in a letter from the owner that the Barrio Bellevue location (10650 N.E. 4th St.) is making a transition from a restaurant into a “special event, private party and catering venue”.

Catering will feature cuisine from Purple Cafe & Wine Bar, Lot No. 3 and Barrio.

“After careful consideration, and with an eye to our long-term success as a company, we have made the decision to transform Barrio in Bellevue,” the letter read in part.

“While we will not roll out our full plan until early fall, we can share that our vision is for an engaging and inviting event space that will be available for both large private parties up to 200 guests, as well as specialty events including wine tastings, cooking classes and a host of new concepts.”

The Capitol Hill location of Barrio, Lot No. 3 in Bellevue and the four locations of Purple Cafe & Wine Bar will all remain open.
