More than 200 art and wine lovers came together for the second annual Wine and Design event at the Bellevue Arts Museum last week. The intimate event celebrated the fine art of wine, cuisine, music and design and benefited the BAM ongoing exhibitions and programs.
With a commemorative Bellevue Arts Museum wine glass in hand, guests enjoyed samplings from wineries including Alexandria Nicole Winery, APEX Cellars, Baer Winery, Brian Carter Cellars, DiStefano Winery, Kestral Vintners, Mannina Cellars, Matthews Cellars, Otis Kenyon Wine, Parejas Cellars, and Woodinville Wine Cellars.
Guests mingled among the tables lining the perimeter of the museum space to the soft sounds of a live jazz band. Seattle residents, Sam and Pat Smith sampled wine from Brian Carter Cellars, a Washington state winery focused exclusively on an array of hand-crafted European-style blended wines. Brian Carter Cellars Managing Partner Mike Stevens was on hand to answer questions and pour samplings of their newest wines. The Smiths, who sit on the board of the museum, savored the many flavors of the evening.
The wine was paired with samples from Flo Japanese Restaurant, Oh! Chocolate!, Oil & Vinegar and Panzanella, Palomino, Seastar Restaurant, The Melting Pot and more.
Curator-led tours were available for an inside peak at the museums current exhibits including work by artists Randy Shull: Crossing Boundaries, Etsuko Ichikawa: Traces of the Molten State, John Grade: Disintegration Sculpture through Landscape, and Tip Toland: Melt, The Figure in Clay.
Bellevue Arts Museum is located across from Bellevue Square on Bellevue Way Northeast at the corner of Northeast Sixth. For more information visit www.bellevuearts.org.
