Bellevue residents in need of home maintenance and repair can apply for help from a team of volunteers. More than 400 people, working for Jubilee Services, will tackle all kinds of projects on some 40 homes, including home repair, painting, deck replacement, yard work and carport cleanup.

“A Day of Caring and Sharing,” now in its fourth year, is scheduled for Aug. 13. Home selection is need-based; residents facing economic or other life challenges are encouraged to apply. Homeowners in Bellevue can request a home improvement application by contacting Gary King, at 425-454-3084 ext. 3369.

Applications must be received by May 27.

A committee representing Jubilee Services will review applications and select projects. Those selected will be notified by July 1.

Those wanting to volunteer can register at http://www.belpres.org/JubileeServices/JubileeServiceDay2011.ashx?p=1733.

Jubilee Services is a nonprofit organization supported entirely by contributions of time, labor, materials and money. The City of Bellevue is a cosponsor for the Day of Caring and Sharing.

In addition to projects for needy homeowners, past Jubilee Service efforts have included placing volunteers in schools to assist teachers getting ready for the new school year and placing volunteers in Bellevue parks to help with maintenance and restoration.
