Walmart is a poor choice for Bellevue

It was with great dismay that I read that Walmart will be occupying the space on Main and 148th. I live within a mile of that site and can only see the negative effect that will have on my neighborhood and the community as a whole.

Walmart sells products made all over the world by poorly paid workers who have no protection from environmental hazards and do not have basic human rights.

It is difficult to imagine that the Bellevue City Council has been unaware of their reputation. Giving them a site in the city of Bellevue is certainly not in the best interests of our city.

The council should reconsider this decision and look for a company that will bolster the image of our city and help build a healthy economy that will benefit all of our residents.
