The Eastside Lions had a pair of teams finish third at the state competition.

Local rugby club finishes third at state

The Eastside Lions youth rugby club had a pair of teams end the season with third place state finishes at the Rugby Washington 15s competition.

The U19s defeated defending state champion Budd Bay (Olympia) in the consolation final 42-10 while the U16 squad took care of another defending state champ in Chuckanut Bay (Bellingham) 42-27.

Local members of the U19 team include Evan Prince (Interlake) James Ferguson (Interlake) and Zakir Butte (Interlake) while the U16 team features Billy Bishop (Interlake) and Rio Morales (Bellevue).

Issaquah woman fires hole-in-one

Kathy Dunham of Issaquah shot a hole-in-one on the sixth hole at Bellevue Municipal Golf Course, holing-out from 106 yards with an eight iron.
