Eleven Puget Sound-area groups that support musical programs for children were announcned today as recipients of grants from The Snowman Foundation. The funding is from proceeds of the fifth annual “Ten Grands” concert held May 12, 2012 at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall.
Produced by the Snowman Foundation, the sold-out concert raised more than $30,000, with all proceeds designated to musical arts programs for children in Washington state. Beneficiaries of the 2012 gifts include two new recipients and nine previous winners.
Grant amounts ranged from $1,000 to $6,100.
“We are delighted to support these groups, which collectively enrich the lives of hundreds of underserved kids in our area by giving them the gift of music,” said Snowman Foundation board member Stephen Dewalt, who oversees grants in Washington.
Recipients serving the Eastside are: Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra; Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue (first-time recipient); Jubilee Reach serves middle school students in the Bellevue School District.
