Want to learn more about what it’s like to be a law enforcement officer?
The Bellevue Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2014 Fall Community Academy, a free 12-week program for city residents and workers to become acquainted with department operations.
The Academy is primarily classroom based, with opportunities for hands-on education. Courses include patrol procedures, firearms, 911 communications, narcotics, use of K-9 units, major crimes investigations, major accident investigations, defensive tactics and hostage negotiations.
Classes meet once a week, 7-10 p.m. on Wednesdays from Sept. 3 to Nov. 26.Most classes will be held at the Bellevue Police Department.
