People For Puget Sound, a regional conservation group established in 1991, will hold a “get to know you” breakfast at the SeaStar Restaurant & Raw Bar in Bellevue on Thursday, March 19.
The “New Day for Puget Sound” Eastside breakfast will be held from 7:30-9 a.m.
Science director Doug Meyers will speak about land conversions and their impact on the region. He also will discuss the way we occupy the landscape and how that directly affects the health of Puget Sound through reduced forest cover, increased stormwater, disruption of fish migration, and improper sewage treatment.
The organization’s core activities are educating families, restoring shoreline habitats, and speaking up to help save the Sound.
The breakfast is complementary, but there will be a request for donations to support the organization’s work.
Reservations can be made by contacting Nancy Hahn at nhahn@pugetsound.org or 206.382.007 by March 12.
Seastar is located at 205 108th Ave. N.E.
