Bellevue’s Atofau commits to WSU

Bellevue safety Jamal Atofau has made an oral commitment to play football at Washington State University.

Atofau, a 5-foot-10, 185 pound senior, also plays running back for the Wolverines, and scored twice in last week’s 42-7 win over Juanita.

The news was first reported by the Seattle Times.

Atofau told the Times that he had received scholarship offers from Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, Idaho and Idaho State before settling on the Cougars. Former Bellevue teammate Eric Block is a redshirt freshman safety for the 1-7 Cougars under first-year head coach Paul Wulff.
