Bellevue police were dispatched to a motor vehicle prowl in progress on the 2300 block of 100th Ave. NE, near Clyde Hill, with reports that the homeowner had shot the prowler.

The homeowner said he heard a noise in his driveway and fired after spotting a male by his vehicle.

Clyde Hill police arrived at the scene first and handcuffed the homeowner and suspect.

There were no signs of rummaging in the homeowner’s vehicles.

Police held the homeowner and suspect for questioning, eventually releasing the homeowner and arresting the suspect for residential burglary.
