Drivers headed to Seattle this weekend could face hour-long delays on State Route 520.
Crews will close two of three lanes on eastbound SR 520 at 130th in Bellevue. The around-the-clock closures will begin Friday night, March 13, and last until Monday morning, March 16.
The $9.4 million SR 520 work generates 100 jobs and provides work for 17 Washington companies.
“We continue to replace concrete panels this weekend,” said Lorena Eng, WSDOT regional administrator. “The only way to remove large chunks of pavement is to close lanes, cut them out and work quickly to repour the panels.”
The 520 work involves crews ripping out the existing asphalt bridge approach panels and replace them with new concrete slabs.
When work is complete, drivers will notice a much smoother road.
