Thrift Recycling Management, Inc., (TRM), the largest seller of used books on the Internet, has hired Bellevue consultant Louise Kobuke Anderson as the company’s new chief financial officer. Anderson started Oct. 1.
Anderson brings more than 20 years of financial experience to the job. She worked as an independent management consultant in Bellevue the past five years, advising companies on financial analysis and strategic planning.
Before that, she worked for Bank of America in Seattle for 12 years, most recently as a vice president and senior finance manager for the bank’s national merger team. Her first job in finance was as an analyst for Weyerhaeuser.
TRM acquires surplus merchandise (primarily books) from thrift stores, nonprofit organizations and publishers and sells the merchandise online or recycles it and sells the recycled materials overseas. The company also donates thousands of high-quality children’s books to literacy programs in the U.S. and abroad.
The company is based in Lakewood.
