The Bellevue school board wants the community’s take on what sort of person should fill the role of superintendent.

Former schools supt. Amalia Cudeiro resigned from her position last Tuesday, Jan. 31, citing family medical issues.

To replace Cudeiro, three public input sessions will be held. The school board will use the 2008 list of desired characteristics developed by the recruitment firm, Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates as a starting point for this discussion.

Hired by the district in 2008, the firm developed this list of desired characteristics in a superintendent based on more than 500 questionnaire responses and 210 interviews with parents, teachers, support staff, community and business members, administrators and board members.

All community members are encouraged to attend these sessions to provide additional input. Information gathered from the input sessions will be taken into consideration when the board is evaluating candidates.

The sessions will be:

– 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Odle Middle School Library, located at 14401 NE Eighth St.,  Bellevue.

– 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Wilburton Instructional Center’s board room, 12241 Main Str., Bellevue.

– 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16 at Sammamish High School Performing Arts Center, 100 140th Ave. SE, Bellevue.
