The Sophia Way, a nonprofit organization providing shelter and counseling to homeless women on the Eastside, is celebrating the opening of Holly House.
Holly House is a home in the Factoria area, which has been renovated to create affordable, community housing for up to six women. On May 24, six women moved into their new home.
It was a new opportunity for them to start life safe and off the streets, said Development Coordinator Olivia Davis.
This project is a community effort and collaboration among partners of The Sophia Way.
The Sophia Way assists single, homeless women in East King County, Washington, on their journey toward independence, providing shelter, permanent housing, and supportive services. It’s the only staffed, overnight shelter for single, adult women located on the Eastside in the Seattle area.
