Bellevue Fashion Week ’09 kicks off Tuesday

High heels on silver platers and sequined tights on runway models marked the kickoff for Bellevue Fashion Week '09 taking place Sept. 29 through October 4.

High heels on silver platers and sequined tights on runway models marked the kickoff for Bellevue Fashion Week ’09 taking place Sept. 29 through October 4.

Presented by the Bellevue Collection, Bellevue Fashion Week ’09 will include runway fashion shows by Lulu Lemon, David Lawrence and Nordstrom; a VIP shopping night; a private screening of The September Issue; and a Vogue magazine produced “Front Row Fashion Runway Show”.

To amp up the fashion, The Bellevue Collection partnered with Stir Martini & Raw Bar to host a preview event in honor of the Boys & Girls Club of Bellevue, the main beneficiary of Fashion Week.

The event, called Baubles, Bags and Boots, gave a sneak peak at the fashion trends and must-have accessories that will be highlighted throughout fashion week. Models wore the latest designs from Bellevue Collection stores and male models carried silver platters with an assortment of high heels for viewing from table to table.

Sponsors of the event included Costco, Intelius, Nintendo, and Key Bank. Anu Jain of Intelius Inc. and King County Councilmember Jane Hague were both in attendance for the upbeat fashion event.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Baubles, Bags and Boots event and the Front Row Fashion Runway Show will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Bellevue.

“We are so honored to have been chosen by The Bellevue Collection to be part of Fashion Week and for the wonderful sponsors who are giving back to the kids,” said Kathy Haggart, the president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Bellevue. “A large percentage of the donations will go to funding our many girls’ programs including scholarships.”

The Baubles, Bags and Boots event was free, but an ask of $150 followed a brief video describing the programs offered by the Boys & Girls Club of Bellevue. The sold-out Front Row Fashion Runway Show will take place October 3.
