Monthly closures of the State Route 520 bridge and highway continue this weekend. The bridge and the highway, between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and Interstate 405 in Bellevue, will be closed from 11 p.m., Friday to 5 a.m., Monday, with the off-ramps shutting down by 9 p.m. Friday.
The closures allow crews to complete construction projects that are part of the bridge replacement and related improvements to 520.
During the June closure, a pedestrian bridge was demolished, a fish passage culvert was installed under the highway and a new eastbound off-ramp to Bellevue Way Northeast was built. The July 8-11 closure allows crews to perform more culvert work and maintenance crews to conduct annual inspections and repairs on the floating bridge.
