Bellevue wins Max Preps Holiday Classic

Bellevue stormed through the bracket at the Max Preps Holiday Classic before winning a 51-50 game over San Juan Hills (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) in the championship game.

Downey, Calif. was no match in the opener, as the Wolverines rolled 56-36, and in the next game Bellevue did not allow more than four points in any quarter, blowing out Palm Desert, Calif. 57-9 after building a 17-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.

San Dimas, Calif. provided little resistance in the semi-finals, as Bellevue won 59-20.

The Wolverines face Davis (Yakima) Saturday before returning to conference play against Liberty next week.

Newport reaches semis in California

Newport won its first game at the Surf N’ Slam Tournament in San Diego, Calif., beating Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa, Calif.) 53-48.

Justin-Siena (Napa, Calif.) beat the Knights 59-50 in the semi-finals.

Interlake wins two

The Saints beat Highline 69-25 and also picked up a non-league win over Steilacoom, taking a 44-27 contest over the holiday vacation.
