As Bellevue has built its powerhouse prep football program over the past decade, college coaches have taken notice, helping several Wolverines cultivate college careers.
Now, one school is upping the ante, offering a local player who hasn’t yet completed the seventh grade, let alone starred in the high school ranks.
Jahlen Jack, a member of the Junior Wolverines football program and part of the high school graduating class of 2018, received an unofficial offer from Vanderbilt University and excitable coach James Franklin. The initial report was based on a Tweet from the Bellevue Junior Football program’s Twitter account.

Jack is the younger brother of UCLA-signee Myles Jack, an explosive two-way threat for the Wolverines for the past three years and Myles confirmed his brother’s offer from the Commodores to the Reporter as the Wolverines track and field team prepared to host tomorrow’s invitational track meet.
“I wasn’t there when it happened, but it’s real,” the elder Jack brother said.
Judging his highlight video in the junior football ranks, Jahlen will have more colleges calling for his services before long.
College football programs can give verbal scholarship offers, which are non-binding, to any athlete regardless of age, but no commitment can become official until a National Letter of Intent is signed.
