A Bellevue couple was arrested Friday, May 21, when they complained to police that one of them had been assaulted in Seattle.
The problem is that the couple were the ones doing the assault, police say.
The incident began when a man saw 20-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man writing graffiti on a sign and a barrier on the 300 block of East Roy Street in Seattle. The man photographed them and her car, a red Ford sedan.
The couple got into their car, and the woman allegedly drove it into the man, Seattle police said. Police said the couple also attacked the man as he tried to get into his apartment.
During the scuffle, the couple grabbed the victim’s cell phone when it fell out of his pocket. The woman’s head was cut in the fight.
Seattle police were able to trace the car to Bellevue where they found it towed it away. The Seattle Police also told Bellevue Police about the incident.
At about the same time, the couple were at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue having the woman’s cut looked at. They called Bellevue Police to report the injury. Bellevue Police, in turn, notified Seattle Police and the pair was arrested at the hospital.
According to reports, Police said the evidence against the pair included the victim’s photo of the pair by their car, wearing the same jackets as they had at the hospital. Also, the woman had the vicitm’s cell phone on her.
The victim reportedly suffered an injured back along with a banged-up face, knee and legs, police said. He was treated at a local hospital and is on crutches.
