The Democratic way
The Democrats attempt to pick a presidential nominee is analogous to someone needing a heart transplant and having to choose between the wife of an ex-surgeon, who watched him lance a couple of boils, and the shiny new intern, who claims he can talk your old heart into removing itself from your chest. His one-word platform, “change,” however, makes you wonder whether he’ll replace it with a can of beer or a bowling ball.
In the end, they’ll vote based on the candidates’ color, sex, how much money they’ve raised, and who has the most convincing story as to how those things we cannot afford individually we can somehow afford collectively through the magic of welfare for the middle class.
It’s the Democratic way, I’m sorry to say.
