A wide variety of items are being sought: from personal items such as bar soap, shampoo, eye drops, razors, deodorant, hand lotion , socks and feminine products, to snack foods such as instant macaroni and cheese, popcorn, nuts, crackers, candy, gum, beef jerky and powdered drinks, to reading items and music CDs.

Monetary donations to help cover postage to Afghanistan may be mailed to Bellevue College Student Programs – Boomers Club, Building C212, 3000 Landerholm Circle SE, Bellevue 98007.

“The Boomers’ and Veterans’ clubs are doing this to show our gratitude to our soldiers fighting around the world for the freedoms we share in America,” said Rose Brittain, BC Boomers’ Club president. “We are so proud of the young men and women who serve our country.”

BC’s Boomers’ Club is made up of older students who serve the community by undertaking public service projects and help each other by sharing their knowledge of programs, services and resources.
