Relief effort extended to help animals affected by Taylor Bridge Fire

On Thursday, Coastal’s customers donated over six tons of animal feed, $1,000 in cash, bags and bags of cat and dog food, along with a van full of clothing, boots and supplies for firefighters and families impacted by the fire.

All of the donations are being delivered to the Ellensburg area today so they can be put to use immediately.

“We can’t thank the public enough for your help,” says Coastal Farm & Ranch owner Buzz Wheeler. “It breaks our hearts how many families and animals have been impacted by the traffic fire and we’re working as a team to help every way we can.”

In addition to the items donated yesterday, Coastal has delivered horse feed, water buckets, troughs and additional supplies to the area this week. “We started with a big donation ourselves,” according to Wheeler.

Coastal is extending its offer of a 10 percent discount on all items purchased and donated to the effort. They are also accepting new and used horse halters, lead ropes, buckets, livestock feed, hay, water dishes, along with cat and dog food.

All supplies donated today will be delivered by Coastal to impacted areas this weekend.

Coastal’s Auburn store is located at 1425 SuperMall Way in the former Wal-Mart facility just south of the SuperMall. The store is open until 8 p.m. this evening.
