Spirit of Bellevue 12K and 5K runs to raise money for college scholarships for local students

The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and Bellevue Chamber Foundation announced recently the city will play host to a pair of runs to raise money for college scholarships for local students, with the Spirit of Bellevue 12K and 5K runs on August 12.

“The Spirit of Bellevue Run is a unique opportunity for runners to enjoy many of the great aspects the City of Bellevue has to offer,” Bellevue Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Betty Nokes said in a press release.  “This community event will also shine an important spotlight on education by raising funds for scholarships to assist young people in our community as they pursue higher education opportunities.”

The course for both races begins and ends at the Downtown Park and registration cost is $40 through August 8 for the 12K and $30 for the 5K. Prices go up to $45 and $40 from August 9 until race day and tax deductible donations can also be made for anyone who does not wish to take part in the run/walk.

A health and fitness fair is being hosted at the Downtown Park as part of the event, giving industry professionals an opportunity to market their newest innovations and offering participants and spectators a chance to get expert feedback on the latest advancements for a healthy lifestyle. The fee for exhibitors is $395 for Chamber members and $595 for non-members.

Course maps, registration information and more is available online at the official Spirit of Bellevue website.
