Auction to provide ‘World of Hope’ to families in need

Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP) will host its 26th Annual Dinner & Auction fundraiser, “A World of Hope,” May 15 at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.

Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP) will host its 26th Annual Dinner & Auction fundraiser, “A World of Hope,” May 15 at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.

The event, from 5 p.m. to midnight, benefits the many families in EDVP’s homeless shelters and programs. EDVP is the only domestic violence service provider in East and North King County.

Honorary Chairs, Justice Bobbe Bridge, Ret. & Jon Bridge will welcome Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna as the 2010 award winner of the annual Norm Maleng Honoree Award for his outstanding leadership and tireless work to protect victims and end domestic violence. McKenna is a Bellevue resident.

The evening will feature a premium Washington wine and beer reception, gourmet dinner, live entertainment and dancing.

Auction items will include vacation packages and local, national and international getaways that can be customized to the winner’s favorite destination. Other items include one-of-a kind wine collections – with Leonetti’s, The Maiden, L’Ecole – including a 1964 Borgogno and a 1996 Quilceda Creek, international themed dinners, Be a Super Model for a Day, KING 5 Mariners Suite for 14 Guests, Mikimoto Pearls, and a Duxiana bed customized for the winner. Also offered will be the chance to Be a Wine Maker for a Day, go fly fishing on the Yakima River, or take home an autographed Matt Hasselback Helmet.

Steve Pool of KOMO 4 News will be the Emcee. Howard Choder will be the auctioneer.

Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP) remains the only domestic violence service provider in East and North King County. Last year, EDVP served 4,316 victims of abuse and answered 9,985 Crisis Line calls. An additional 25,231 individuals were educated and trained on domestic violence.
