On the boys side, Newport and Sammamish get things started tonight when they meet at Newport High School at 7:30 pm to begin the 2011-12 season.

The Knights finished last season one win from the state tournament while the Totems ended the year with a two point loss to Lake Washington in the 3A KingCo tournament.

The Interlake girls will play host to Granite Falls on Tuesday at 7:30 and then travel to Lindbergh the following day.

Bellevue’s girls team begins the season on Wednesday against Skyline and the Newport girls open against Mercer Island. Sammamish and Forest Ridge will also meet on Wednesday.
