In an effort to find ways to reduce, reuse and repurpose things, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church will hold a communitywide yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 19.
Because some people don’t want to go to the trouble of holding yard sales or neighborhood covenants may prohibit such activities, the church will offer its parking lot and facility for the event. Tables will be available for individuals and groups to lease for $1 per foot (table lengths) and people will keep the proceeds from their sale of their items.
There also will be option to donate items for St. Luke’s to sell, with the donor taking the tax deduction. Computer monitors, TVs and VCRs won’t be accepted.
Storage containers are currently on site for donation drop offs. Drop off times are on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and noon and on Sundays 10-11 a.m. People also can call the church office to schedule a drop off.
St. Luke’s was recently awarded a city of Bellevue Neighborhood Link Award for the event. With the award came a generous offer from Whole Foods to provide baked goods to be sold to benefit Eastside Baby Corner. St. Luke’s will also be conducting a food drive. All participants and shoppers are encouraged to bring a can of food to benefit HopeLink.
