Sammamish (0-2) @ Bellevue (2-0), Friday, 7 p.m.

Bellevue has looked every bit the part of a prohibitive state title favorite through the first two weeks of the year, dispatching a pair of 4A KingCo foes with relative ease.

The Wolverines suffered no letdown in last week’s matchup with Bothell, beating the Cougars 49-6 a week after taking care of two-time defending 4A state champ Skyline.

The Totems enter the game off a pair of losses, most recently a 43-14 loss at the hands of Franklin Pierce. The defense will face another challenge this week in an offense for the Wolverines that has looked dominant in two wins.

Interlake (0-2) VS. Liberty (1-1), Friday, 7 p.m.

The Saints are back at home for the third straight week and will look to get in the win column after dropping a pair of lopsided games to 4A foes.

Redmond and former coach Jason Rimkus ran away with a 55-7 win over the Saints last week, while the Patriots enter the game off a 28-7 win over Hazen.

Newport (2-0) VS. Woodinville (2-0)

Neither Newport nor Woodinville has been tested in a close finish through the first two weeks of the season. The Knights seem to have answered their questions at quarterback, beating South Kitsap 35-14 last week and now owning a combing 70-21 advantage over its opponents through the first two weeks.

Junior quarterback Jordan Sandberg has yet to complete a pass on the season, not unusual since he has attempted only three over the first two games, but that has mattered little as senior running back Conner Baumann and a host of other backs have toted the rock for a yards per carry average in the double digits.

Junior Nkumbu Chisebuka has 12 carries on the year for 170 yards and a score (14.17 per carry) while fellow junior Paul Wells is averaging nearly 13 yards per carry on the year and has scored a pair of rushing touchdowns.

The Falcons have also won a pair of lopsided games to open the year, first traveling to Alaska to pick up a win over Palmer before returning to Washington to take down Mariner 42-0.
