The Bellevue Police Department plans to release more information Tuesday related to arrests made last week of suspects believed to be responsible for as many as 14 armed robberies around the city.

Deputy Police Chief Mike Johnson announced the first arrest during a Bellevue Police Foundation breakfast on Thursday, when commenting on the foundation’s gift of night-vision equipment to the department. He said the equipment was used by police Wednesday, March 26, to track and arrest an armed suspect believed to have been involved in about 14 commercial robberies in Bellevue. The suspect was considered to be very dangerous.

Police declined to provide more information last week, citing a continuing department operation Thursday night operation, which could have been jeopardized if information was released to the public at that time. Police state a news release will be made available Tuesday.
