Three Bellevue tennis clubs take sectional titles | Community sports news

Three clubs from Bellevue are headed to the national championships after winning USTA sectional titles.

Three tennis clubs from Bellevue, Robinswood, Edgebrook and Pro Sports Club, each won a sectional title at the USTA Pacific Northwest Regional Championships recently in Portland, Ore.

The Women’s 2.5 team from Robinswood beat The Dalles Fitness (Oregon) 2-1 to win the championship and earn a spot a nationals.

On the men’s side, Edgebrook took the title at the 3.5 level over Multnomah A.C. of Portland 3-2 and Pro Sports Club was crowned the champ at 4.0, beating Mountain Park R.C. of Lake Oswego 3-2.

Bellevue players on the Robinswood team include Sue Junker and Edna Gossage. The team is coached by Jason Chapman, who serves in the same role at Bellevue College.

The 18 & Over USTA National Championships for 2.5 are in Indian Wells, Calif., while the 3.5 and 4.0 tournaments are in Tucson, Ariz.
