Contractor crews will close the eastbound Interstate 90 off ramp to Bellevue Way Southeast in Bellevue at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday to remove a decommissioned sign bridge. The ramp is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Thursday.

During the closure, detour signs will direct drivers on eastbound I-90 to Bellevue Way via northbound Interstate 405. The detour will exit I-405 to westbound Southeast Eighth Street, then southbound 112th Avenue Southeast, which ends at Bellevue Way.

The work is part of I-90 Two-Way Transit and HOV Operations Stage 2, a joint project of Sound Transit and Washington State Department of Transportation. The project will improve eastbound I-90 from Mercer Island to Bellevue with a new HOV lane, on-ramp enhancements and pavement preservation. Stage 2 construction is scheduled to be complete in 2012.
