Before we get to the lesson this week I want to congratulate Scott Piercy on his win last weekend at the Wichita Open a Nationwide Tour event. I have spent many hours working with Scott on his swing and he is a great kid.
You may have heard of him from his big win in June of last year at the Vegas challenge where he took home a cool $2 million. Scott has made it into 20 PGA Tour events and made eight cuts with one top 25 finish. He is trying to make his dream come true and stay out there with the big boys and this sure helps.
Just to put a little perspective on how good these players are, if he was to play Bellevue golf course par for Scott would be 63. Now that would be par; he would not be happy with that score. Scary isn’t it.
Now let’s look at the pictures of how the left side works. This is so simple and yet very few players are able to do this because of the poor information they are fed about the golf swing. Just simply copy this move without a club for awhile and if you do, see how easy it is to use your right side correctly?
This is why most players feel the right side more than the left, because it is getting out of the way. Just the opposite with players that reverse these positions. Also note how there is no flip of the hands or forearms. If you get someone telling you to rotate your hands or forearms over one another, run. You are getting information that will kill any chance of playing well.
