Bellevue firefighters raise $18,000 for MDA

Firefighters from Bellevue Fire Department Local 1604 raised more than $18,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association last weekend. It was the best fundraising effort ever for firefights helping MDA.

On Saturday and Sunday, veteran and new firefighters held boots the intersections of Northeast 28th Street and 84th Avenue Northeast in which people could make donations.

Proceeds will help support the MDA services and research programs

Nationally, firefighters have filled the boot for MDA since 1954, raising approximately $453 million.
