Woodridge Elementary teacher Amy Hess was named Teacher of the Week by STAR 101.5.

Hess, a 1st grade teacher, was nominated by her student, Donimic Myerchiu. The station’s afternoon show hosts made a surprise visit to her classroom Sept. 24.

Each student in the class received a goody bag full of prizes from Applebees, Washington State Employees Credit Union, Dairy Farmers of Washington, KOMO 4, KOMO Communities and STAR 101.5.

Hess will receive a personalized plaque from Trophies2Go.com, a $100 check from Washington State Employees Credit Union and $100 Applebees gift certificate. She will also be entered as one of 24 teachers from the 2010/2011 school year that could win an all new redesigned 2011 Volkswagen Jetta from Chaplins Bellevue Volkswagen. The car will be given away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Fisher Plaza in Seattle.
