Park pervert: An unknown suspect exposed himself to an elderly woman at Wildwood Park. Officer checked the area, but could not locate him.
July 27
Double whammy: The suspect attempted to rob a man, who resisted. The suspect then pulled out what the victim believed was a real pistol and said, “this is for you, then,” and shot at the victim several times. The victim realized the pistol was fake when he was unharmed. Responding officers detained the suspect. During the investigation, an unrelated subject backed into a police officer’s unoccupied car. It was determined that the subject was impaired and he was arrested for a DUI.
July 28
KKK chaos: A man entered the Islamic center on Main Street and caused a disturbance by yelling about the KKK and by striking two people. The suspect fled the scene, but was located several blocks away by police and arrested.
July 29
Crossroads crash: A subject nearly struck a police officer’s car and another vehicle while driving recklessly in the Crossroads area. A traffic stop was initiated and it was discovered that the subject had no license and there was a warrant out for the his arrest.
July 30
Breaking and entering: The suspect(s) used a fence post to smash four windows on the doors to temporary classroom buildings at Lake Hills Elementary School. No entry was made and school security was advised of the situation.
Bird on the lamb: The police and fire departments assisted a citizen in getting her therapy pet, a conure parrot, after it flew away and perched itself in one of the taller trees near Crossroads Mall.
Fight for the right to party: Residents of a home in the 12700 block of SE 65th St. threw a large party with more than 200 party-goers. The attendees began causing a disturbance by fighting, vandalizing property and making excessive noise. The residents requested police help end the party, but more than 100 people inside the house refused to leave. Some were seen with baseball bats or golf clubs. A woman who had consumed an excessive amount of alcohol was brought outside by a good Samaritan so she could receive medical attention. Ultimately, after more officers arrived at the scene, the party was cleared.
Dent in the evening: An unknown suspect vandalized a patrol vehicle as officers were handling the aforementioned party. The suspect dented the hood and kicked the driver’s side rear quarter panel, causing another dent.
Walk it off: A woman leaving the aforementioned party was pulled over for a DUI.
July 31
Stolen snacks: Two subjects stole $30 worth of food from QFC. Officers arrived and found the pair sitting outside of the store, enjoying their stolen food.
