Ted Baker, an international clothing store based in London, has announced plans to bring a shop to Bellevue Square in spring or summer of 2016.
The store will be Ted Baker’s first location in the greater Seattle region. There are 30 locations in the United States, with the closest one in San Francisco.
The 2,960-square foot store will be inspired by classic British “high tea.” Courtney Dolson, Ted Baker’s public relations coordinator for the Americas, said that stylistic choice was intended to honor Washington’s love of coffee.
The decor of the store is described as “tones of pastel pink, blues and mints are interspersed with oversized white doily decals throughout the store space. Bespoke tea tin-printed wallpaper adorns the fitting-room walls as tiered cake-stand light fixtures are suspended from the ceiling.”
Ted Baker was established in Glasgow, Scotland in 1988 as a menswear line. A women’s line of clothing was added in 1995. It was become a luxury brand celebrating the uniquely British sense of humor and style.
The store will also feature British treats like egg and cress sandwiches and bourbon biscuits.
The store’s to-be-determined opening weekend will feature gifts with purchase, giveaways and the Spring/Summer 2016 lines from the store.
Bellevue Square is located at 575 Bellevue Way NE.
