Officers fill fuel: Officers stumbled upon a Canadian man who ran out of gas in Bellevue and resorted to sleeping in his van outside of Barney and Al’s Chevron before it opened. The officers filled his gas tank with fuel and gave him directions to his destination.
Airsoft assault: Several people were assaulted with an airsoft gun while standing along 156th Avenue Northeast near FedEx, which had a pellet hole in its glass window. The only suspect description was a white or silver sedan with an unknown license plate number.
Armed robbery: Officers responded to a call of an armed robbery in the Highland Middle School parking lot. Four to seven unidentified male subjects reportedly attempted to pull the victim out of his car and pointed a gun at him. The victim was able to drive his car away from the suspects and was not injured.
May 17
Peeved painter: A painter showed up to work drunk and belligerent at a client’s home on Southeast 45th Street. His boss immediately asked him to leave and essentially fired him on the spot, but the painter refused to go. After going to the client’s door and asking for a ride, other employees tried to intervene, but the painter pulled out his putty knife, waved it at them and brushed them away. The officer trespassed the man from the property, but, not wanting to paint him with a broad brush, gave him a ride home.
Another Airsoft assaults: Officers are investigating a series of malicious mischief incidents and assaults in the Crossroads neighborhood. The suspect(s) were shooting cars, houses and people with Airsoft, BBs or paintballs. One victim reported one of her bedroom windows was broken by a BB pellet.
May 20
Caped agitator: Officers contacted a man who was wearing a cape and carrying a curtain rod with a hanging piece of art who was walking in traffic and screaming at passing cars.
Perpetrator pins partner: The manager of a restaurant near 900 Bellevue Way NE called police after the suspect got angry and pinned his romantic partner against a wall in the restaurant. The suspect fled the scene and refused to stop when a nearby officer responded to the scene. He was eventually taken into custody for domestic violence.
May 21
Suspect cuts screen: A woman called police around 3 a.m. stating that a man had cut the screen off of her bedroom window with a knife and was attempting to enter her apartment on 110th Avenue Northeast when she interrupted him. Police were able to locate a suspect matching the description and he was booked into jail.
May 22
Drunk man pees on door: An extremely intoxicated man tried to open the door to an apartment that was not his on Northeast 29th Street before peeing and vomiting on it. When a police officer arrived, he observed the suspect pull a light fixture off the wall before arresting him.
