Senior citizens will be celebrated at the Bellevue Farmers Market on Saturday, Sept. 12. In addition to the usual local produce and flowers, the market will feature information and entertainment geared for older adults.

The Bellevue Farmers Market is open on Saturdays, from June 6 to Nov. 21, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 410 Bellevue Way NE, across from Bellevue Square. Senior Day is sponsored by the Bellevue Network on Aging, a city panel that promotes awareness of the needs of older adults.

Information will be provided by several local agencies that serve older adults, including: Hopelink, Evergreen Home Health, the Eastside Heritage Society, the Overlake Service League, the Seattle Humane Society, Sunrise Assisted Living, Visiting Nurse Services, Senior Services, SeniorNet and Home Instead Senior Care.

For entertainment, there will be cooking and garden demonstrations and live music.
