Barricaded boozer: An officer pulled over a woman driving erratically on Bellevue Way Southeast, and found probable cause for a DUI. But, the woman rolled up the window and locked her car door and refused to get out of the vehicle. The driver was told she was under arrest and still did not comply. Eventually, more officers and a supervisor arrived on scene and attempted to talk to the woman, but officers then got out a window punch and told her she had one last opportunity to exit her vehicle, or they were coming in to get her. She then begrudginly exited her car and was booked into jail for the DUI and resisting arrest.
Busted: A witness called 911 to report that a subject at the Days Inn in Eastgate attempted to sell him narcotics. An officer located two subjects who were exhibiting body movements consistent with drug use. He was able to obtain consent to search their vehicle and found drug paraphernalia, scales, baggies, a small pistol-type pellet gun, a Taser and other items associated with drug use and sales. He also located heroin on one subject.
March 8
Public peeing: An officer was driving in the area of 900 156th Ave. NE when he observed a stream of urine coming from a male standing on the sidewalk. The suspect initially denied the allegations, but quickly gave in when the officer pointed to the puddle of urine on the ground. He was arrested for urinating in public.
March 10
Screaming shoplifters: Two suspects were caught stealing $52 worth of lunch from Whole Foods. Once in the security office, one suspect refused to give her name, started screaming and threw her cell phone. The second suspect was equally uncooperative and gave the wrong date of birth. Officers arrived and were able to positively identify both females. The second suspect was wearing a nice looking plastic anklet courtesy of the Seattle Police Department for “mule kicking” a police officer during her arrest a few months ago.

Fired-up former employee: A newly terminated employee accessed his former company’s website and removed proprietary pictures/content and added slanderous comments. The suspect also emailed an unauthorized phone recording to several employees and created a false company website to misdirect potential new clients. The subject is being investigated for computer trespass, cyberstalking and unlawful interception of private communication.
Bike bait: A suspect was apprehended after he stole an $1,800 “bait bike” that a police lieutenant’s squad had placed in an area plagued by bike thefts.
March 12
Trapped on public transit: The subject called 911 screaming profanities and that he was being held hostage after the bus driver had not dropped him off at the correct location. Officers responded, but could not locate him.
Craigslist gone bad: A Kent resident traveled to Spiritwood Park with her boyfriend to meet two people who answered her Craigslist ad to buy a cell phone. Two males pulled a large handgun and a large knife and demanded the victim give up the cell phone before fleeing. One of the males fired one shot as he entered the woodline. A police K9 tracked the suspects west through the park and out onto 145th Place Southeast before losing the scent. The investigation continues. Police describe the suspects as in their 20s, one African-American and the other Hispanic. No one was injured during the incident.
Hit-and-run: A man called 911 after getting an alarm for his mailbox and seeing a person outside his home on 109th Avenue Southeast. When officers arrived, they encountered the suspect’s green 2000 Volvo (Washington license plate number 671-XZN). The suspect immediately fled, driving over lawns and hitting the front end of one of the officer’s cruiser while getting way. There was minor damage to the bumper and no apparent injury. The car’s owner said he sold the car two weeks ago. Police apprehended a 31-year-old in connection with the incident on March 15.
