January 18
Double DUIs: Two suspects crashed into one another on 148th Avenue Southeast, causing significant damage to their cars, but no injuries. Both had been drinking alcohol and were arrested for DUI.
ID eruption: The suspect went into the BelMar Marijuana store to buy marijuana with a fake ID. When the store realized his identification was fake, they kept it. The suspect was upset that the store would not give the ID back because he needed the fake ID to work in the U.S. The suspect then took the store keys to use as leverage, and store employees called 911. Officers arrested the suspect for using the fake ID and was trespassed from the store.
Caught with coke: An officer on the 108th Street and Northeast 8th Street was informed by a citizen that a male just tried to sell him cocaine. The officer remembered seeing the described male walking on Northeast 8th Street and went back to look for him. She found him and after the suspect lied about his date of birth, the officer learned he had several warrants out for his arrest. The suspect denied selling cocaine, but a baggy of cocaine was found on the sidewalk right next to where he was located.
January 21
History of being hit by cars: Several callers stated that a subject was running or stumbling into traffic on Northeast 20th Street. Upon contact, officers reported that the subject was obviously under the influence of narcotics and almost fell in front of the patrol car. He had severe dry mouth and his lips were covered with white powder. He admitted to using methodone that morning and stated he has had a history of being hit by vehicles.
January 22
Four fakes: The victim was selling his PlayStation 4 on craiglist.com and met the suspect at an AM/PM to complete the sale. The suspect handed the victim $420 in a roll and quickly left the scene. The victim soon found out that the four $100 bills were fake. When police tracked down the suspect, they found a recently unpacked PS4 in his apartment. While he initially denied any involvement, the suspect eventually admitted to obtaining the counterfeit currency during a hypothetical marijuana purchase.
Serial slasher: More than 25 vehicles were found with slashed tires along the 148th Avenue Northeast between roughly Northeast 1st and 40th streets.
January 23
Family feud: A victim was assaulted by three suspects after he was seen video recording a family argument they were having. The suspects asked him to stop, but he refused. They then attacked him. He appeared to have minor injuries. The disturbance spilled out into the entrance of the Lincoln Square parking garage and several additional officers were needed for crowd control to keep the scene safe.
January 24
Drowsy drug user: An officer contacted the suspect in the parking lot north of Nordstrom Rack sleeping in his running Jeep Cherokee with numerous items of drug paraphernalia in his lap. After a consent to search was given, the officer located a bag of meth and a partially smoked chunk of heroin.
