Unexpected add-on: A 17-year old student purchased a vehicle on Craigslist and brought it to the auto shop program at Bellevue High School for an inspection. As other students were combing through the vehicle, one of them came across a Glock handgun located in a glove compartment. Officers took custody of the handgun, and discovered that the registered owners’ name was an alias for a convicted felon.
Carpool conflict: Two subjects argued over a ride to work and gas money. One of the individuals kicked the chair the other subject was sitting in, breaking the armrest, which then hit the subject in the leg causing pain and visible injury. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
Disconcerning DUI: A vehicle was stopped for driving the wrong way on 112 Avenue Northeast. Initially, the driver was unable to unlock his doors or get out of the truck. Once finally out, it appeared he had developed a rash on his arms and was sweating, even though it was still cold outside. There was also a possibility he was diabetic and he was mumbling incoherently. There was only a faint odor of alcohol. He was evaluated at the hospital. His blood alcohol content level was around 0.3 (the legal limit for a DUI is 0.08) and no other medical problems were noted.

Rooftop rescue: A man’s parents called 911 advising he was possibly suicidal. Soon after, the police received a call of a young male on the top of the Eastgate Park and Ride parking structure apparently about to jump. A Metro worker grabbed him and prevented him from jumping. The subject was involuntarily committed at Overlake Medical Center.

Bye bye bike!: The subject was attempting to sell a $400 BMX bike and met a potential buyer for a test ride. The suspect rode off with the bike and did not come back.

Stuff of a soap opera: A woman was arrested after she threatened to shoot her former lover in the head because she was upset with the victim over access to another lover, who is currently in the hospital in a coma.
Play palace imposter: Police received calls from concerned citizens at the Crossroads Mall McDonalds after a subject started talking to children, and when he bent down to pick something up, a knife fell off his person. The citizens said he never threatened them with the knife, but they felt that his behavior was very bizarre. Officers contacted the subject after he had boarded a Metro bus, but he initially refused to talk with police because he was having a conversation with a 2-year-old in a stroller and he said he wanted to finish it, but he eventually agreed to get off the bus. He had a partially visible kitchen knife sticking out of his pocket that he said he carries for protection. His mood swings were all over the place, and at times he was hostile with police, but he eventually calmed down. He gave police the knife, but was not arrested as no crime had occurred.
“Regrets, I’ve had a few”: A 31-year-old male checked himself out of rehab and showed up at his parents’ home with a vehicle that they had never seen before. As the subject has no income, his parents became suspicious and called 911. The subject drove away as they were on the phone and his father followed him. The vehicle was confirmed as stolen from a rental agency. Officers caught up to the suspect, who immediately pulled over and surrendered, but declined to provide a statement and only expressed disappointed that he hadn’t been able to get high between his release from rehab and this most recent arrest.
